AMERICAN FLAG JOURNEY
Forward The Legacy

Background of the Journey
AMERICAN FLAG JOURNEY STORY
American Flag Journey started out simply a as a flag received by United States Army Captain Jordan Henrickson as a gift back in 2014. That August, he sent his flag to a friend deployed to Afghanistan to be flown with an Army medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) unit, who flew this flag during several MEDEVAC missions. This inspired Jordan to add more miles to this flag and Since then, Jordan's flag has flown all over the world! This single flag has flown over battlefields of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria; over heroes' graves in Arlington National Cemetery and the U.S.S. Arizona, and over incredible landmarks across the country. It has flown all over the globe, over all seven continents, from the Wisconsin State Capitol to the South Pole in Antarctica to the United states Embassy in Moscow, Russia to the summit of Mount Everest! The flag is currently at the United States Embassy in Greece!
In 2018, American Flag Journey decided to be more than just one Soldier’s flag traveling the world. After meticulous research and planning, American Flag Journey decided to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the focus on enhancing the lives of veterans, service members, and their family’s by providing academic and professional opportunities, assisting with the difficult transition from military to civilian life, and providing as much comfort and reassurance as possible by providing Gold Star Family assistance. To date, we have successfully helped 147 service members secure a fulltime job prior to their last day on active duty. We are continuing to develop ways to show our support for all current members of the United States Armed Forces, whether in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, of the Navy, and veterans who have served this country in the past. We have grown from one active duty Soldier to an organization of eleven, and we have continued to further our reach across the world! This fall, American Flag Journey will award the Chris M. Harris Scholarship to a veteran or service member to accomplish our mission! Until then, we strive to spread our reach, continue to help our military and veteran communities, and proudly fly our beautiful flag around the world!
